Questions people ask
What is a weight-adjusted 2K?
Your 2K erg time multiplied by Concept2's weight factor, (weight in pounds ÷ 270) to the power 0.222. At 70 kg the factor is 0.883, so a 7:00.0 2K adjusts to 6:10.9.
How do you calculate a weight-adjusted erg score?
Divide your weight in pounds by 270, raise it to the power 0.222 and round to three places. Multiply your time by that. At 80 kg it's 0.910, so 7:00.0 becomes 6:22.2.
Why does Concept2 use 270 lb for the weight adjustment?
So an adjusted score reads as speed in an eight. Concept2 says eight rowers who average a 6:00 adjusted 2K should be capable of about 6:00 on the water in good conditions.
Does the weight adjustment work for women?
Yes. Concept2 says the same formula applies to women and men.
Can a weight-adjusted score go in the Concept2 rankings?
No. Concept2's rankings take raw times and distances only.
